Nike Free Rn Distance Reassessment

Back in October 2016 I purchased a pair of the Nike Free Rn Distance. By far it is one of the best pair of shoes I have ever bought. It took me about 7 months to retire these shoes, which is definitely a little too long. However, I fortunately bought another pair shortly after discovering how good they are. Back in January I posted a review of the Nike Free RN Distance, which you can find here. Now, I want to give another breakdown of the shoes after using them for an extended period of time.

Like I mentioned in my previous post here, these shoes are very comfortable. They are like a pillow for your feet. In addition, the Nike Free Rn Distance give a lot of room for your toes in the toebox. Yet after running in these shoes for a few months it was noticeable that the insole loss a lot of support. The arch was pretty much gone. I did not put my own insoles in, which may have helped with this issue.

Other than the insole, the shoe remained comfortable. The vamp of the shoe, which is the area that wraps around the middle portion of your foot, showed no change. They still wrapped around my foot like sock.

Similar to the Inov-8 X Talon 212s, the Nike Free RN Distance on saw major wear on the outsole. The fabric of the shoe still looks relatively new. Regarding the outsole, after a couple of months it was pretty much worn out. Yet, I tend to keep using my running shoes longer then usual. Eventually the lacking outsole may have started causing a little bit of pain in my ankles, knees, and hips. Once I switched over to the new pair the pain dissipated.

Overall I was very happy with the Nike Free RN Distance. The comfort is something I have not experienced with another running shoe. After doing a little more research, it looks like the Nike Free RN Distance only lasts for a range of 200-450 miles, averaging at 300 miles. For my volume of running I would need to have a shoe that will last for more miles. So, even though I love the Nike Free RN Distance, I will eventually get a different pair of running shoes to fulfill this need. When I find those shoes and use them for a bit I will make sure to write a review on them. If you want to know anything else about these shoes comment below and I will get back to you!
